I've been considering starting an otp series and if I didn't start with these two would I even be me?! Here we go: a timeline of Roy Sommer and Nari Yoon !!

History/Facts: 
this is a timeline as we best know it, if i don't have "evidence" i will notate it as hearsay

2014:
Nari and Roy meet! We don't have a lot of details but we know they met through their ties to mutual friend Taylor Swift. Nari has stated they met at Syzygy show, though given the timeline it isn't clear which that was (Maybe during momumentour?)

2015:
In late May, a fan at a Syzygy concert posted some backstage photographs with Roy.

In June, Roy posts a photo of Nari on social media, confirming in the caption that she is on his family's farm. The two later confirm they were hanging out, getting to know one another and singing each other songs on acoustic guitar (My heart). Nari also posted shots from various Sommersohne shows around this time

Later in the year, Nari posts a photo of Roy from that same time period (maybe the same day) with the caption: "missing my eternal sommer more than usual today"

2016:
THE CONFIRMATION HAPPENS. While on Twitter, Roy liked a tweet shipping him with Nari: there was no direct mention of EITHER in the post and NEITHER had been tagged or flagged in any way. This is considered the hard evidence that (at least) Roy had/has real feelings for her.

This got a little swallowed up as both of them were really busy. There were rumors about Roy and others (most notably Sam Toomey) and this is also the period in which Nari was working on After Laughter, so she spent a lot of time out of the spotlight and we basically didn't see her at all (this will come up later).

2017:
Nari pops up on Roy's IG story, though with little context.

Onstage in Cologne (June 24) Nari told the crowd that Roy had taught her to say "I love you" in German and also how to say "this donut is incredible" - obviously the internet thought one of these phrases was more important than the other.

When IG rolled out the "go live with a friend" feature, Nari test-drove it with none other than Roy himself. They streamed for about an hour mostly ignoring the chat which was primarily made up of over the moon fans who felt like they were having a sneak-peek of what it was like to watch a private Facetime between the two, especially when Nari decided to show Roy the way she'd redone her living room.

2018:
Just before the holidays in 2017, Nari came out as lesbian. Most of 2018 was spent on the road with Syzygy and more or less low-key. Fans at shows reported that she was high-energy onstage but seemed a little worn out when it came to meeting fans late after the shows.

There were a ton of rumors swirling about Roy's love life in particular but we still got some primo Naroy content (they never let us down)

Roy mentioned on social media that he and Nari had kissed before and it was "very nice".

2019
Mid-year, Roy and Sam Toomey announce they're together. Unknown if the two events are related.

Nari posts an extensive but rather vague blog about going through a separation from someone she cares about and stresses the importance of mental health and self-care, explaining that she is taking time to do just that for herself. She states that she will be taking the time at home and with her loved ones and tells her fans to stay safe.

There is no direct public contact between the two for 2019; Nari is not even seen at high-visibility events for Roy's birthday, etc.

2020
2020 has cleared my skin with all the Naroy content tbh.

Nari is photographed in Japan with Roy, apparently on a mini-vacation before going to London for interviews.

Nari is photographed at the Oscars with Roy, where their genderbent fashion choices left us all fanning ourselves.
Nari posts footage of Sommersohne's Ulm show to her IG story although she technically should still be in Los Angeles but who is keeping track I guess? Depending on which IG footage fans caught there are several pictures and some video of them hugging for an extended period of time in the background/slightly off-frame since they weren't participating in the actual content but merely in the same vicinity.

Hearsay:
no proof that we have beyond anyone's word, so take it for what it is, especially since we don't have timeframes for any of it

"Rose Colored Boy" is about Roy, attributed to Nari's tendency to refer to him as sommer/sunshine. Nari has never confirmed nor denied this.

"Pocahontas" by Sommersohne is rumored to be about Nari leaving/Roy finding out that Nari identifies as lesbian (assuming he knew before she came out).

Some fans attribute the lyrics to "Proof" by Syzygy being about Roy and the distance between them. This has been mostly debunked as Nari has mentioned in interviews that it was about her then-girlfriend, Mina.

The two had a falling out re:Sam after Roy went official with him, possibly breaking the "rules" they had set for their open relationship.

Fantheories
Nari is close to several members of Roy's family including his (incredible) mother who has posted photos with Nari on twitter. Some believe this is indication of something deeper than friendship particularly on account of how busy Roy's mom tends to be etc.

One of the theories that I see circulating a lot is that Roy and Nari had a bit of an experimental love affair in 2015/as the self-titled tour wrapped up. These fans believe that Roy got Nari pregnant and that she had the baby in 2016, but it should be noted that aside from one random unexplained photo we've never seen any pictures of Nari with babies. Because Nari tends to dress boyishly and not so much in tight-fitting clothing/disappeared for the better half of 2016, there are some who believe that she had the baby with little to no fanfare. Others believe she may have been pregnant at one time but the baby didn't make it to term for whatever reason. Again, we have no proof for this one, but it's popular so I thought I should mention it.

There was a brief theory (that I hate to even bring attention to) where people ended up confused and thought that because Roy has Korean relatives he was actually cousins with Nari but he's not, she is not related to him or Tif Bogaert in any way.

Personally the most widely-accepted theory is that Roy and Nari are in an open relationship due to sexual preference etc. - basically that they see other people but that their primary relationship is with one another!
